Tetairoa McMillan turned in the best game of his young career, catching 14 passes for a career-high 192 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Carolina Panthers past the Detroit Lions 32-26 on Sunday Night Football at Bank of America Stadium.

Bryce Young was efficient throughout, completing 29 of 41 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns without an interception, and McMillan was his top target all night, piling up nine catches for 147 yards in the first half alone. He connected with McMillan on a 32-yard touchdown in the second quarter and again on a 10-yard score in the third. Chuba Hubbard added 122 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, with scoring runs of 15 and 2 yards.

Detroit stayed within reach behind Jared Goff, who threw for 412 yards and a touchdown on 32-of-52 passing with no interceptions. Jameson Williams caught six passes for 102 yards, Isaac TeSlaa had four catches for 95 yards, and Sam LaPorta finished with eight receptions for 84 yards, capped by an 8-yard touchdown catch with 3:42 remaining that cut the deficit to six. Jahmyr Gibbs scored on a 1-yard run, and kicker Jake Bates went 4-for-4 on field goals. The Lions finished with 452 total yards but could not get the stop they needed on defense.

The teams were tied 16-16 at halftime, but Carolina took control after the break. The Panthers led 29-19 after three quarters and scored on six straight possessions after punting on their opening drive. Late in the game, McMillan's 18-yard catch on third-and-14 kept a drive alive with less than three minutes remaining, helping Carolina run out the clock.

Injuries were a factor on both sidelines. Detroit cornerback Rock Ya-Sin left with a hamstring injury, while Carolina tackle Monroe Freeling went down with a knee injury in the third quarter and linebacker Jaelan Phillips exited with a hamstring injury in the fourth.

Both teams are 2-2 after four games. Detroit travels to Arizona to face the Cardinals on Oct. 11, while Carolina heads into its bye week before a trip to Philadelphia.
