Falcons Make NFL History in Dominant 35-14 Win Over Packers
The Falcons finally found their offensive rhythm, and the timing couldn't have been better. Atlanta delivered its most complete performance of the 2026 season on Thursday night, dominating the Packers 35-14 at Lambeau Field and putting together a game that made a bit of NFL history along the way.
Michael Penix Jr. Steadies the Offense
Penix returned to the starting lineup after recovering from a torn ACL, and he gave the Falcons exactly what they needed at quarterback. He completed 18 of 25 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown, throwing one interception early before settling in and helping Atlanta move the ball consistently the rest of the way. His ability to spread the ball around helped open things up for the running game while giving the offense a steady passing presence it hadn't had through the first two weeks.
Bijan Robinson and Drake London Make History
Robinson was one of the biggest difference-makers of the night, carrying the ball 29 times for 194 yards and two touchdowns against a Packers run defense that had been one of the better units in the league. His 194 rushing yards made up nearly 80 percent of Atlanta's total on the ground.
Drake London matched him blow for blow through the air, hauling in nine catches for a career-high 194 receiving yards, including a 68-yard reception that was both the longest catch of his career and the longest by a Falcons receiver since December 2022.
Together, Robinson and London made history as the first running back and wide receiver duo in NFL history to each top 150 yards in their respective categories in the same game.
Defense Held Up Its End Too
Atlanta's offense got most of the attention, but the defense played just as big a role. The Falcons pressured Jordan Love on 44% of his dropbacks, with Cameron Thomas recording four quarterback hits and Gervon Dexter adding two more. In the secondary, Billy Bowman Jr. and C.J. Henderson each stepped up in an expanded role with A.J. Terrell out, and Xavier Watts came up with a key interception. Between the pressure up front and the plays on the back end, Green Bay was never able to find any rhythm offensively, finishing with just 14 points.
A Statement Performance
All told, the Falcons put up 498 total yards, running for 244 and passing for 254, in a game that flipped the script after two rough weeks to start the season. After struggling to find its identity through the first two games, Atlanta looks like it may have found it at Lambeau Field.
