The Denver Broncos won an ugly one, beating the Seattle Seahawks 17-14 in overtime on Thursday Night Football after Wil Lutz connected on a 53-yard field goal following a Ja'Quan McMillian interception.

Denver built a 14-3 lead through the first half on short touchdown runs from J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey, with Seattle's only points coming on a Jason Myers field goal. The Seahawks managed just 91 yards in the first half, and Denver's defense kept them out of the red zone for the first 30 minutes. But the Broncos' offense went quiet after halftime, finishing with 168 total yards, 30 of them in the second half, and going 0-for-6 on third down. Bo Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for just 107 yards.

Seattle roared back in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 unanswered points. George Holani punched in a 1-yard touchdown run, Rashid Shaheed hauled in the two-point conversion to make it 14-11, and Myers tied the game with a 34-yard field goal with three seconds left in regulation. Seattle outgained Denver 353-168 for the game. Sam Darnold threw for 278 yards on 27-of-51 passing, with two interceptions, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba finished with 12 catches for 134 yards after two catches for 11 yards at halftime.

Denver's defense came up big when it mattered. It sacked Darnold five times and forced three takeaways, including a Kris Abrams-Draine interception late in regulation that ended a Seattle drive and a Nik Bonitto forced fumble on Shaheed. In overtime, Seattle received first, but after a holding penalty on the return team backed the Seahawks up to their own 11, McMillian intercepted Darnold on third-and-7. Denver took over at the Seattle 43 and gained just enough to set up Lutz's game-winning kick.

CBS Sports reported that Broncos defensive backs Patrick Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga were out with injuries.

Denver improved to 4-2, while Seattle fell to 3-3.
