Who’s ready to shake things up this year with a few new fashion trends? Are you tired of the same ol’ outfits that fill your wardrobe? Do you push down the line of hangers only to feel as though you have nothing new to wear?

This Year's Fashion Trends

What if you injected a little bit of life into things this year? We’re talking boho romance, powerful personality pieces, and a nod to nostalgia – all current fashion trends. Ready to take a walk on the wild side?

Aquatic Life

Spring 2025 Fashion Week showcased an interesting twist on the nautical theme. Sure, we’ll see some sailor stripes in the mix, but the fascinating part was the mermaid theme. Sequins and fishtail skirts are the name of the game, providing a bioluminescent dash of magic to any outfit.

Boho Magic

Does boho ever go out of style – in fashion or interior design? This year, boho’s still in the limelight, but it’ll have a bit of a romanticized, feminine feel. Thinks bright flounces, perky ruffles, and lace-lined details. It’s a softer approach to prior years which took on more of a rugged, vintage vibe.

Soft Romance

Along with the hints of romance we’ll see in our boho looks, full-blown romance will also be in the air. When spring starts to roll around, be on the lookout for delicate floral patterns, lace-trimmed skirts, and soft summer dresses. This trend will add a bright dash of femininity to your wardrobe and, with the right dresses, these looks could be classic enough to wear for many seasons.

Powder Pink

In keeping with the warm embrace of our feminine wiles, powder pink will also make its mark this year. We’ve already seen dashes of it on the red carpet when we kickstarted award season. No doubt, our favorite celebrities consulted their favorite fashion designers. Whether it’s a soft-pink t-shirt and a pair of denim micro shorts or a matching blouse and skirt (like the minimalism we’re about to discuss), a few dashes of pink are sure to find their way into your wardrobe.

Shades of Yellow

Along with powder pink, we’ll also see shades of yellow adorning the racks of our favorite stores. You can go your own way when it comes to this trend, from soft, creamy yellow to bright, bold saffron. There are so many ways to wear this trend, as well, including ruffled boho blouses or tightly tailored blazers. The choice is yours.

Intentional Minimalism

If, instead of layered boho magic, you prefer a cleaner look, you’re in luck. This year, it’s all about monochromatic pairings, quiet luxury, and a clean aesthetic. Think statement pieces like well-tailored blazers, a nod to men’s fashion, or highly structured khaki pants. With this trend, the power lies in intentionality – only adding delicate accessories to the look.

Strapless Dresses

If you’re planning to summer in The Hamptons, be sure to pack a strapless dress for all those starry nights. This trend takes aim at the intentional minimalism we just discussed while still leaving room for a bold accessory like a thick belt or colorful handbag. You can also play around with different patterns, from a soft, buttery yellow dress to a bright, bold animal print. Either way, the spring and summer are sure to showcase one of our best features: our shoulders.

Mix-Matched Patterns

Ironically, the complete opposite of minimalism is also being predicted by the likes of Noora Raj Brown, the Executive Vice President of Goop. She thinks we’ll see bold blends of patterns and textures that we wouldn’t traditionally see – one of the Gen Z fashion trends that are inventive and fun. Think polka dots and leopard prints, as long as you keep a coordinating color running through the mix. You can also blend bright colors like emerald green and magenta pink.

Powerful Personality Pieces

You can showcase your personality as you embrace those mix-matched patterns. But, if you’re not ready to commit to polka dots and leopard prints just yet, you can take a more delicate approach. With any outfit, let’s say a pink-on-pink pairing, you can add a powerful pop of personality, such as personalized jewelry, bold red espadrilles, or a mossy green hat. Be bold, be brave, and dash in one standout element to complete the look.

A Nod to Nostalgia

Don’t be afraid to embrace feminine, childlike charms this year, either. It’ll showcase your softer side. Think ballet flats, Mary Janes, loafers, and cute, flouncy skirts. It’s a nod to the simpler times when all we needed was a pair of flats to pair with our favorite dress or skirt. You can also complete these outfits with simple crossbody bags or a nod to 90s fashion trends with a backpack and a couple of patches.

Which Trend Will You Embrace?

What’ll it be? Some mix-matched patterns, a powerful personality piece, or a soft yellow silk blouse? This year, we hope you’ll have some fun with any one of these fashion trends. Try something new. Do something you wouldn’t normally do. It’ll breathe some life into your wardrobe and turn a few heads on the streets.
