NFL Week 7 featured some of the best regular season matchups we’ve seen. With a Super Bowl rematch, multiple divisional battles, and games featuring some of the best young quarterbacks in the league, the schedule was packed with incredible action from start to finish.

If you missed any games on Sunday, you can get caught up on the biggest stories ahead of Monday Night Football right here.

New England Falls in Old England

Sunday’s action got underway at 9:30 AM ET when the Jaguars and Patriots faced off in England. After jumping out to an early lead, the Patriots gave up 25 unanswered points and fell 32-16 to the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars.

All hope isn’t lost, though. Drake Maye, the Pats’ rookie QB making his second career start, put together some solid drives.

Ultimately, the Patriots’ defense just wasn’t strong enough to silence Trevor Lawrence and the Jags’ offense. The loss dropped New England to 1-6 on the season while the Jaguars moved to 2-5.

A Division Rival Takes Out an Undefeated Team

Ahead of the NFL’s week 7 lineup, the Minnesota Vikings were one of two undefeated teams left in the league. They looked to keep their streak alive as they played host to division rival Detroit in what promised to be a high-scoring game.

After taking an early lead, Minnesota couldn’t hold off the Lions’ offense, led by Jahmyr Gibbs who led Detroit with 116 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Lions kicker, Jake Bates, who was selling bricks a couple of weeks ago, assuming his NFL career was over, nailed a game-winner to put win the game late, as the Lions handed Minnesota its first loss of the season by a score of 31-29.

Battle of the Young Quarterbacks

Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers played host to CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans in what was billed as a contest between two of the better young quarterbacks in the league.

While many analysts expected the game to be a high-scoring affair, the first quarter came to a close with the Texans up 3-0. The offense got going in the second quarter, as Houston took a 19-14 lead into the half.

The back-and-forth action continued through the second half with Green Bay down by one point with less than a minute to go. Newly-signed kicker, Brandon McManus drilled a 45-yard field goal as time expired to give Green Bay the 24-22 victory as both teams now sit at 5-2 on the season.

Anthony Richardson Returns to Indy

The Colts got their second-year QB back from injury as the team hosted Miami, a team that is still missing its franchise QB. Joe Flacco kept Indy afloat, as the team came into this game at 3-3, still right in the mix in the AFC South.

Richardson ended the game 10-24 for 129 yards and tacked on 14 carries for 56 yards.

Statistically, it may not have been the performance that Richardson and the Colts would have liked, but it was enough to get the win by a score of 16-10. Indy moved to 4-3 as Miami fell to 2-4. There are rumors that the Dolphins will get Tua Tagovailoa back next week, but that’s yet to be seen.

Deshaun Watson Goes Down Injured

Another divisional game saw the Browns host the Cincinnati Bengals. While Cincy picked up the win by a score of 21-14, the biggest stories of the game involved a return from injury for one Browns’ starter and a new injury that will shake up the rest of the Browns’ season.

Nick Chubb returned after a terrible knee injury last season and scored in his first game, much to the delight of the hometown crowd.

Near the end of the second quarter, much-maligned QB Deshaun Watson went to the ground with a non-contact injury. Browns’ coach Kevin Stefanski said postgame that they believe Watson tore his Achilles, but he would undergo testing on Monday to confirm the diagnosis.

Homecoming For Saquon Barkley

In the offseason, Saquon Barkley left the New York Giants to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles. For the first time since the move, Barkley returned to New York to face his old team. The Giants’ offense has struggled all year and only managed to put up three points against Philly.

Meanwhile, the Eagles opted to feed Barkley early and often, as the former Giant ended the game with 17 carries for 176 yards and a touchdown. Barkley also brought in two receptions for 11 yards.

The Eagles won 28-3, and by the end of the game, the Giants had benched Daniel Jones for Drew Lock in a move that “frustrated” Jones. Brian Daboll’s seat in New York is hot and getting hotter, and this game didn’t do anything to turn down the temperature as the Giants fell to 2-5 while the Eagles jumped to 4-2.

Super Bowl Rematch in San Fran

The Kansas City Chiefs went to the Bay Area for a Super Bowl rematch with the banged-up 49ers. In what was billed as a premier matchup between Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy, it was the Chiefs’ ground game that was the story.

The Chiefs rushed for four touchdowns, including one from Mahomes who threw two picks.

Meanwhile, Purdy didn’t throw for a touchdown, but ran for two and threw three interceptions. The 49ers lost Deebo Samuel (illness) and Brandon Aiyuk (injury) during the game, which neutralized the San Fran offense as KC picked up the win 28-18.

Aaron Rodgers in Primetime

Sunday Night Football saw Aaron Rodgers and the Jets travel to the Steel City to take on Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Jets traded for Davante Adams, Rodgers’ favorite receiver when the pair played in Green Bay, earlier this week, but the addition didn’t help this week. The Jets’ offense looked out of sync throughout the game and only managed to put up 15 points.

Meanwhile, Russell Wilson looked great in his season debut, leading the Steelers to a 37-15 victory.

Week 7 concludes tonight as the Baltimore Ravens go to Tampa to face Baker Mayfield and the Bucs while Justin Herbert and the Chargers go to Arizona to battle with Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.
