Krispy Kreme Unveils 40th Anniversary Ghostbusters Doughnuts

Krispy Kreme is celebrating Halloween and the 40th anniversary of the 1984 film "Ghostbusters" with four limited-edition doughnuts inspired by the movie.

The Krispy Kreme x Ghostbusters collection of four new flavors will be available at participating locations nationwide beginning Monday, Oct. 7, and will come in a custom "Ghostbusters" specialty box. Along with the "Ghostbusters" doughnuts, Krispy Kreme is offering Slimer’s Slime-ade in a signature ectoplasm green.

The collection includes the Ghostbusters Cookies N’ Creme Doughnut made with OREO, an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in chocolate icing and topped with OREO pieces and a dollop of buttercream, finished with a No Ghost logo candy.

The Slimer Doughnut is an unglazed doughnut filled with lemon-flavored green filling, dipped in purple and green icing and topped with a Slimer candy.

The Ecto-Sprinkled Doughnut is an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in orange colored icing and sprinkled with neon sprinkles.

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Doughnut Pull-Apart is made of Original Glazed Doughnut Dots with powdered topping, topped with marshmallow-flavored buttercream and a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man candy.

“Yes it’s true, these treats are no trick. When it comes to Halloween this year, you know who to call,” Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a statement. “Krispy Kreme is the gatekeeper to Halloween sweetness and Sony Pictures Consumer Products is the key master to bring spooky-sweet 'Ghostbusters' doughnuts to our fans this year. You’re welcome, Gozer.”

Fans will also be able to find the Krispy Kreme x Ghostbusters collection in six-count assortment boxes at select grocery stores. Customers visiting Krispy Kreme locations in costume on Oct. 31 will be able to claim a free Original Glazed doughnut with no purchase necessary.
