Calm skies have allowed the Los Angeles Fire Department to get several of the California wildfires under control in recent days, including the most destructive one in Pacific Palisades. But, the area’s not completely out of the woods yet as officials fear a return of the Santa Ana winds which could reignite the disaster.

At least 27 people have lost their lives already and more than 12,000 structures were destroyed. The word, “devastating” has, perhaps, been overused. But, what else can you say when you’ve lost everything but the shirt on your back?

California Wildfires Donations

With all the celebrities that live in California, many are doing what they can to help the cause by donating food, toiletries, clothing, and money. Through her brand Goop, for example, Gwyneth Paltrow has committed more than $2 million in care packages for those affected by the Southern California wildfires. Let’s see who else has stepped up to the plate.

Taylor Swift

You can always count on Taylor to make a significant difference with her vast fortune. She’s quietly donated to several local L.A. organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Direct Relief, 211 LA, and MusiCares.

Since 2013, Beyoncé’s BeyGood foundation has been committed to transforming communities into areas of economic prosperity and justice. So, it’s only fitting that her non-profit pledged $2.5 million to the newly created L.A. Fire Relief Fund.

Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis is one of the celebrities that live in LA who was deeply affected by the wildfires in California. She shared with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show how devastated her Pacific Palisades community is in the wake of the fires. As one of the celebrity couples who have done what they could, she, her husband, and their two daughters have pledged $1 million through their Family Foundation to support the relief efforts.

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria is making a difference with her donations, as well. She chose to support This Is About Humanity – an organization that raises awareness for separated and reunified families on both sides of the border – with a $50,000 contribution. It will help families and workers affected by the fires. On top of that, she also committed $1 million through her Eva Longoria Foundation to the Latino Community Fund and California Community Foundation.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton wasted no time launching an emergency wildfire relief fund with an initial donation of $100,000 and promised to match another $100,000. So far, she’s raised an impressive $800,000 and added an extra $150,000 to the GoFundMe Wildfire Relief Fund. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner joined the effort, too, by donating to the California Fire Foundation Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund. Though she hasn’t shared the exact amount, there’s no doubt her contribution will make a difference.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt found a creative way to help. As she launches her new “Love Angeles” clothing line, she partnered with BFFs and Babes, and Baby2Baby. All the proceeds will go to Baby2Baby, a nonprofit that provides essentials like diapers, formula, water, and food to children affected by the fires.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio is another celeb who’s lending a helping hand by donating $1 million to wildfire relief. His donation will benefit multiple organizations including the LA Fire Department Foundation, Pasadena Humane Society, and World Central Kitchen.

The Eagles

On January 30th, a massive benefit concert, FireAid, will take place at the Intuit Dome. Headliners include Billie Eilish, Dave Matthews, Lady Gaga, P!nk, Rod Stewart, and more. The Eagles pledged $2.5 million to get the concert off the ground.

While it remains unclear if they’ll also perform, there’s no doubt this show is going to draw major funding. All the proceeds will go toward rebuilding Los Angeles’ infrastructure – a monumental task considering the wildfires destroyed over 12,000 properties.

The Weeknd

The Weeknd generously contributed $1 million to various wildfire relief efforts. Like Swift, his donations will be spread across a few different organizations, including the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

Time to Rebuild

As we continue to pray for those affected by the California wildfires, we’re sure to see more celebs draw from their substantial bank accounts to help members of their communities. The news clips have been nothing short of Apocalyptic, prompting people from all over the world to generously donate.
