Burger King's Million Dollar Whopper Finalists Coming Soon

Burger King fans submitted more than one million ideas for the brand's first Million Dollar Whopper Contest, for a chance to win $1 million and see their creation sold at restaurants nationwide, and three finalists were announced Monday.

The contest, launched in February, called on fans to submit ideas for their dream Whopper sandwich, starting with its classic base of a quarter-pound of flame-grilled beef and adding up to eight toppings, all on a toasted sesame seed bun. The three finalists will be available at participating restaurants nationwide for a limited time this fall, and guests will help crown the winner.

The first finalist is a Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper submitted by Fabian of California. The sandwich features pickle ranch, lettuce, fried pickles, bacon, and Swiss cheese.

The Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper submitted by Calvin of California features maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions & jalapeños, maple bacon seasoning, bacon, and American cheese.

The Mexican Street Corn Whopper submitted by Kelsie of Nebraska features street corn spread, lettuce, tomato, Southwest seasoned tortilla crisps, and Mexican spicy queso.

"The Million Dollar Whopper Contest was all about taking 'Have It Your Way' to the next level, and we were blown away by the thought and creativity that went into the Whopper creations that were submitted," Pat O'Toole, Chief Marketing Officer for Burger King North America, said in a statement. "Selecting just three finalists was no easy task, but we're confident Guests will love these creative delicious takes on the iconic Whopper sandwich, and can't wait for them to be available in restaurants this fall."

Burger King said details about the availability of the finalist creations will be released in mid-November, along with details on how guests can help crown the $1 million winner.
