UFC Fighter Allan Nascimento Dies in His Sleep at 34
UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento has died at 34 after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep, the promotion announced Monday.
"This morning, Monday, August 3rd, our beloved fighter and exemplary flyweight, Allan Nascimento, was found unresponsive after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep," the UFC said in a statement. "Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan's family, friends, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."
Nascimento, a native of São Paulo, Brazil, would have turned 35 this September, according to ESPN Brazil.
A Career Built on Brazil's Regional Circuit
Nascimento compiled a 22-7 professional MMA record over more than a decade of competition, going 4-2 inside the UFC after signing with the promotion in 2021. Both of his UFC losses came by split decision. He was nicknamed "Puro Osso," Portuguese for "All Bones," a name he earned for how lean he was as a teenager.
The 5-foot-8, 125-pound fighter trained out of Chute Boxe in Brazil under head coach Diego Lima, the same renowned gym that produced former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira. Fifteen of Nascimento's 22 career wins came by submission.
His most recent fight came June 20 at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, where he lost a three-round decision to Mitch Raposo, roughly a month and a half before his death.

Chute Boxe honored Nascimento in a statement shared on Instagram. "We have lost a warrior, friend, dedicated competitor and extraordinary human being," the gym wrote. "[He] earned the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Allan inspired on and off the mats with his determination, humility, respect and fighting spirit. Your presence will be missed immeasurably, rest in peace Allan, your name, your story and your legacy will live forever through our star."
The UFC has not released further details regarding Nascimento's death, and no additional information about his medical history has been made public.
