A popular frozen dessert is once again off store shelves after its manufacturer discovered the potential presence of small stones inside the product, marking the second time in less than a year the same item has been pulled.

Danone USA issued a voluntary recall of So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints on Tuesday, Sept. 15, according to the FDA, after finding the product may contain foreign materials within its cashew inclusions.

What's Being Recalled

The recall applies to pints of the Salted Caramel Cluster flavor with best-by dates on and before April 3, 2028. The affected product carries SKU 136603 and UPC 744473476138, and it was distributed to retail stores nationwide. No other So Delicious Dairy Free flavors or products are included in the recall.

According to the company, the issue involves the "potential presence of foreign materials, such as small stones and other hard objects, within the cashew inclusions." The problem was identified through customer complaints, and Danone USA has notified the FDA of the voluntary recall.

The Second Recall for This Flavor in Less Than a Year

This isn't the first time this specific product has run into the same issue. So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster pints were recalled for the same reason in December 2025, when the company pulled pints with best-by dates before Aug. 8, 2027, after discovering small stones and other hard objects mixed in with the cashews. That earlier recall was ultimately completed, and the product returned to shelves before the latest issue was identified.

What the Company Is Saying

Danone USA said it is working with retail partners to remove the newly affected product from shelves and has already identified and corrected the underlying issue. The company said in a statement that it expects to safely bring the frozen dessert back to market soon.

"We know this is not the quality you expect from us," the company said, adding that it takes every consumer experience seriously and is initiating the recall in line with its commitment to product quality and safety.

Unaffected So Delicious Dairy Free products remain available on store shelves, and anything shipped going forward is not included in the recall.

What Consumers Should Do

Anyone who purchased the recalled pints is urged not to consume the product. Danone USA is offering a replacement coupon or refund to affected customers, who can reach the So Delicious Dairy Free Consumer Care Line at 1-833-367-8975. Consumer Care specialists are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET. Customers can also submit a request through the company's contact form online.

Shoppers with the affected pints in their freezer are encouraged to check the best-by date and SKU or UPC codes against the recall notice before deciding whether to keep, return or discard the product.

The recall adds So Delicious Dairy Free to a growing list of food products pulled from shelves in recent months over safety concerns, as the FDA continues to track voluntary recalls tied to consumer complaints across the country.
