The Baltimore Ravens rallied from eight points down in the final minutes to beat the Atlanta Falcons 30-23 in overtime on “Sunday Night Football.”

Baltimore played without star quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is out with an ankle injury, and struggled on offense for most of the night. But backup quarterback Tyler Huntley caught fire late, and veteran running back Derrick Henry helped close it out. The Ravens improved to 4-1, while the Falcons fell to 2-2.

Atlanta Controls Most of the Night

Atlanta’s defense set the tone early. Safety Jessie Bates scooped up a fumble by Ravens tight end Mark Andrews and returned it for a touchdown to open the Falcons’ scoring.

Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. started slowly, missing his first four passes, but found his rhythm on his fourth drive. He completed five straight passes for 83 yards, capped by a touchdown to tight end Kyle Pitts.

For much of the game, Baltimore’s only touchdown came on an 18-yard screen pass from Huntley to Henry. Atlanta took a 23-15 lead with 2:25 left, and the game seemed all but over.

A Late Rally Forces Overtime

That’s when Huntley came alive. Across the game-tying drive and overtime, he completed all 11 of his passes for 80 yards.

Huntley found receiver Devontez Walker for a 7-yard touchdown with 40 seconds left, cutting the deficit to 23-21. Henry then ran in the two-point conversion to tie the game.

Atlanta’s response was derailed when Penix took a hard hit from Ravens linebacker Tavius Robinson on the final drive of regulation. Backup Tua Tagovailoa took over at quarterback.

Henry Grinds Out the Win

Baltimore received the overtime kickoff and put together a methodical 14-play, 68-yard drive that took more than seven minutes off the clock. Henry carried the ball seven times on the drive, and Huntley finished it with a 1-yard quarterback sneak for the go-ahead touchdown.

Atlanta had one last chance, but Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton intercepted Tagovailoa to end the game.

Henry finished with 102 rushing yards on 24 carries. The night also carried a milestone for Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell, who played in his 283rd career game, the most ever by a defensive lineman.

What’s Next

For Atlanta, the biggest question is Penix’s health. He left with a ribs injury but said afterward that it isn’t expected to be long-term.
