Lauren Boebert's Son Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges in Colorado
Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to the alleged sexual exploitation of a child, according to court records.
Boebert was arrested Sunday, Aug. 9, on five total counts: sexual exploitation of a child to induce or entice, sexual exploitation of a child, possession with intent, sexual exploitation of a child involving video, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to court records obtained by People. The case originates out of Garfield County in western Colorado. An affidavit was filed Aug. 6, and a warrant based on that affidavit was issued the following day. His bond was set at $10,000, and he was released the same day he was arrested after a surety bond was posted.
According to court records, the listed offense date for the charges is Jan. 1, 2024. Boebert is scheduled to appear in Garfield County District Court on Wednesday, Aug. 19. His arrest was first reported by Muckrakers.today.
Part of a Pattern of Legal Trouble
This isn't Boebert's first encounter with the criminal justice system. In February 2024, at age 18, he was arrested and initially charged on 22 separate counts in connection with a string of vehicle break-ins and thefts involving debit cards, gift cards and cash, allegedly carried out with several friends. He ultimately pleaded guilty to one count of attempted identity theft as part of a plea deal, which required him to complete two years of probation, including 80 hours of community service and a prohibition on using controlled substances.
More recently, Boebert was cited over the summer for misdemeanor child abuse without injury after his 2-year-old son wandered away from the family's home in Windsor, Colorado. Rep. Boebert described the incident publicly as a "miscommunication," saying, "As the citation states, there was absolutely no injury or physical abuse involved. Our family has already met with CPS to ensure we are continuing to provide a safe environment for my boys and my grandson; I am confident this is a one-time incident that we have addressed as a family." That case followed an earlier, similar citation in July 2025 involving criminally negligent child abuse, for which he is scheduled to stand trial in April.
According to court records, Boebert is also scheduled to be sentenced in two separate, unrelated cases in September.

Tyler Boebert is the oldest of Rep. Boebert's four sons with her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert. As with any pending criminal case, he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. A spokesperson for Rep. Boebert's office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
