Kim Kardashian's legal drama "All's Fair" is back for a second season, and critics are once again sharpening their knives.

The Hulu series, created by Ryan Murphy, returned on Wednesday, Nov. 4, with three new episodes, exactly one year after its first season premiered to some of the harshest reviews in recent television history.

What to Expect in Season 2

Kardashian returns as divorce attorney Allura Grant, a partner at the all-female law firm Grant, Ronson & Greene. She is joined by an A-list cast that includes Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close.

The new season promises new alliances inside the firm, strained friendships and a shocking revelation that puts the practice at risk, according to Sweety High. The trailer teases "vengeance being a savage game," with Paulson's character, Carrington "Carr" Lane, appearing ready to play. Cauã Reymond and Matthew Noszka are also back. Drag stars Monét X Change, Lady Bunny, Olivia Lux and Bob the Drag Queen are also set to guest star.

New episodes will drop weekly on Wednesdays on Hulu and on Disney+ internationally. Hulu has not yet announced a finale date.

A Rocky First Season

When "All's Fair" debuted in 2025, critics did not hold back. The Guardian's Lucy Mangan gave it zero stars and called it "fascinatingly, existentially terrible." The Times of London also awarded zero stars, suggesting it might be the "worst TV drama ever," while The Telegraph called it a "crime against television," Forbes reported.

The Hollywood Reporter described Kardashian's performance as "stiff and affectless without a single authentic note." USA Today's Kelly Lawler called it an "embarrassingly terrible show." The series debuted with a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 11% score on Metacritic.

Season 2 is off to a similarly bumpy start with critics. Ready Steady Cut's Jonathon Wilson gave the new season 2 out of 5 stars, writing that "being rubbish is pretty much the point," according to Rotten Tomatoes, where only a handful of reviews have been posted so far.

Viewers Kept Watching

Despite the bad reviews, audiences tuned in. The first season drew 3.2 million viewers worldwide in its first three days, making it the most popular scripted Hulu Original debut in three years, according to The Independent. Disney said it was the most-watched title on Disney+ worldwide at the time, landing in the top 10 in 36 territories.

Hulu renewed the show for a second season just weeks after its debut, and Kardashian said production on the new episodes began in the spring. She has said her character was inspired by celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.

Kardashian has taken the criticism in stride. After the first wave of bad reviews, she posted a playful Instagram carousel of both negative and positive reactions, captioned, "Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?" according to Variety. One post she shared complained about "the most ridiculous styling" but ended with, "I'm obsessed I need 14 seasons."

A Busy Time for the Kardashians

The new season arrives during a busy stretch for Kardashian, who has also been in the headlines for a new biography, "Citizen Kim," that explores her life with Kanye West and motherhood.

Her family is also expanding its Hulu presence, with sister Kylie Jenner set to star in a Hulu thriller series, "Bachelorette Weekend."

Whether "All's Fair" wins over critics this time or not, its first season proved that bad reviews don't always keep fans away. For many viewers, the over-the-top drama, glamorous fashion and star-studded cast are exactly the appeal.
