The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, winning on a 57-yard field goal as time expired from kicker Cam Little. The win moved Jacksonville to 4-1, while Philadelphia fell to 2-3 with its third straight loss.

The Jaguars struck almost immediately. Two plays into their first drive, quarterback Trevor Lawrence rolled out on a play-action pass and found receiver Parker Washington, who broke a missed tackle and raced 51 yards for a touchdown.

Philadelphia answered in the second quarter. Running back Will Shipley scored his first career touchdown on a 2-yard run to cap a 13-play, 50-yard drive. Then, facing third-and-10 from their own 38, quarterback Jalen Hurts launched a deep pass to rookie receiver Darius Cooper, who made an over-the-shoulder catch and took it the distance for a 62-yard touchdown. The Eagles led 14-7 at halftime.

A Wild Finish

The second half belonged to Jacksonville’s defense. The Eagles managed only three points after halftime, while the Jaguars controlled the ball for more than 35 minutes overall. Little’s 34-yard field goal cut the lead to 14-10 in the third quarter, and Jacksonville later pulled ahead 16-14.

Philadelphia got one more chance, taking over at its own 35-yard line with 3:13 left and all three timeouts. The Eagles drove into range, and Jake Elliott made a 48-yard field goal for a 17-16 lead.

The problem was the clock. Eight seconds remained, and NBC Sports noted that if the Eagles had managed the clock properly, the kick could have come as time expired.

Instead, running back Ameer Abdullah returned the ensuing kickoff 53 yards to the Philadelphia 39, leaving one second on the clock. Little calmly drilled the 57-yarder to send the Jaguars and their fans into celebration.

Another Memorable Day in London

The win added to Jacksonville’s strong history in London, where the Jaguars have played more international games than any other NFL team. It also flipped the result of the teams’ last London meeting, a 2018 game at Wembley Stadium that the Eagles won 24-18.

The loss was costly for Philadelphia beyond the scoreboard. Shipley left with a foot injury, linebacker Jalyx Hunt and defensive back Michael Carter II were also hurt, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer, and lineman Tyler Steen injured his arm.
