Bought Dr. Squatch Soap? You May Qualify for a Settlement Payment

That bar of Dr. Squatch soap you bought a few years ago could be worth a little money. The personal care company has agreed to a $9 million settlement following a lawsuit over how certain products were advertised.

Customers who purchased qualifying Dr. Squatch products over an eight-year period may be eligible for compensation, but there's a deadline fast approaching. And, if you no longer have your receipt, you may still be able to file a claim.

The Dispute Over Dr. Squatch's Natural Ingredients

The Dr. Squatch class action lawsuit centers around the company's use of the word "natural" to describe its products. Consumers alleged that certain soaps and other personal care items contained synthetic ingredients, despite being marketed as natural.

The lawsuit also challenged the premium prices customers paid for products they believed were made with natural ingredients. Dr. Squatch denies the allegations and maintains that its products were properly labeled, but the company agreed to the proposed settlement.

The $9 million fund will cover eligible customer payments and settlement-related expenses.

Which Purchases Qualify?

The Dr. Squatch settlement covers qualifying purchases made in the United States between November 1, 2018, and August 29, 2026.

A variety of products carrying natural labeling are included, such as:

  • Bar soap and body wash

  • Shampoo and conditioner

  • Deodorant and cologne

  • Beard oil and shaving products

  • Face wash and lotion

  • Toothpaste and lip balm

Different scents and sizes may qualify. The complete list of covered products is available on the official settlement website.

How Much Money Could You Receive?

The final amount here depends on the number of valid claims. Under the proposed terms, eligible purchases may initially be valued at 50 cents each, with limits depending on whether you have proof of purchase.

Customers may claim up to five products without receipts and up to 20 additional products with documentation. That works out to a potential $12.50 for 25 qualifying purchases, although the final amount may be adjusted.

How Do You File a Claim?

The Dr. Squatch settlement claim process is available online through the court-authorized settlement website. You'll need to provide your contact information and details about the products you purchased.

If you're claiming purchases with receipts, have those records available. You can also download a claim form and submit it by mail.

The Dr. Squatch settlement deadline is November 27, 2026. The deadline to object to or exclude yourself from the settlement was October 13, 2026.

There's no confirmed payment date yet. The court has scheduled a final approval hearing for March 2, 2027.

Payments can’t be distributed until the settlement receives final approval and becomes effective. Eligible customers will be able to receive their payments by check or an electronic payment method.

Don't Toss Those Old Receipts Just Yet

If you've purchased Dr. Squatch products during the eligible period, it may be worth checking your order history or looking through your old receipts. Even without proof of purchase, you may still qualify for a smaller payment.

November 27th will be here before we know it, so, if you’re planning to file, take a moment to review the official settlement terms before the opportunity closes.
