Trump's Hair Brought Up Once Again

President Trump's hair has frequently been a topic of conversation on both sides of the political aisle. During a speech on Wednesday at a White House Rose Garden dinner, the president shared a memory about when he was speaking on the campaign trail in Ohio in 2024.

Trump said that while stumping for then-Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, his hair blew around in the high winds. In the remarks, Trump said, “I don’t wear a wig. But that night, they found out I did not wear a wig because if you did, it was not going to be on your head very long.”

It should be noted that Trump was actually wearing his well-recognized red Make America Great Again baseball cap during that campaign event. This means that his hair was likely unaffected by the strong winds.

Not surprisingly, Trump's critics have had a heyday with Trump's hair over the years. It was just last month that comedian Rosie O’Donnell accused the president of wearing a wig. When filling in for late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," O'Donnell said, “You’ve got to realize it’s time to hang up your wig and let Natalie tuck you in." O'Donnell was referencing White House aide Natalie Harp when making the joke.

No End to the Obsession with Trump's Hair

The fascination with Trump's hair goes back years. The president had to repeatedly deny that his hair was real during his first stint in the Oval Office. When speaking at a campaign rally in 2015, Trump tugged at his hair and said, “I don’t wear a toupee; it’s my hair, I swear. This is getting crazy."

The internet took notice recently when Trump appeared to be sporting a fuller head of hair when speaking about the economy at an event in Las Vegas on August 5. The president's usual wispy locks were transformed into a full head of wavy strawberry blond hair as he presented at the Red Rocks Resort. What was most curious was that his hair returned to its normal state the next day, prompting questions about the sudden change. Journalist Aaron Rupar came right out and said what many people were thinking when he asked, “Is Trump rocking a wig, or what the hell is going on here?"

Trump himself has joined in on the jokes. While speaking in Oxon Hill, Maryland, in 2018 at the Conservative Political Action Conference, he quipped, "I try like hell to hide that bald spot, folks. I work hard at it."

The president's physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, confirmed to The New York Times in 2017 that Trump takes four daily medications. One of these drugs is finasteride, an oral prescription medicine that is used to combat male-pattern baldness.
